Croatan is a beach community of predominantly single family homes in Virginia Beach, nestled next to the Atlantic Ocean just south of Rudee Inlet.
The Croatan Civic League (CCL) works to improve the neighborhood, enhance the quality of life, help protect the environment and provide supplemental security services for residents and guests. We have several clubs including a Women's Club and a Book Club. The CCL publishes a monthly news letter and a neighborhood directory periodically to help us get to know our neighbors. We also sponsor periodic neighborhood events such as the CCL - Spring Fling, Neighborhood get- together's, a Halloween parade and acitivites for the children and a CCL annual dinner/meeting each fall.
Well over 300 families and property owners support the Croatan Civic League. We invite all residents of Croatan to join us and support the efforts to preserve, protect and promote the interests of our very special community.
The following is a small sample of our most recent posts on our Facebook page. For more detailed information, please visit our Facebook page.
The CCL is holding another event for kids in Croatan. Join us for an ice cream/shaved ice event on Sept. 6th from 5 to 7pm at 505 Bushnell Dr. It's free for Croatan kids 18 and under.
Please help us spread the word in the neighborhood.
A big thanks to the Volpe family for hosting this event again this year and Amanda Robinson for organizing it.!!!

This was a post from the Shadowlawn Civic League that has good tips for everyone. We are getting multiple reports that vehicle prowling (going into unlocked cars) happened last night in the neighborhood. We are very sorry to the neighbors this happened to but we just want to put out a few reminders.
These prowlers are usually not local and hit multiple neighborhoods every night.
They are usually checking for unlocked cars only.
They are looking for items of value.
Unfortunately, This will happen again, so remember lock your doors.
We live in a very safe neighborhood but unfortunately these prowlers do not discriminate. Please look out for each other and report anything suspicious.
